OUR HISTORY

The church now known as Mesick United Methodist Church began when Rev. Hugh Kennedy organized classes and held bi-weekly services at the school house in early 1896.  Five years later, Rev. H.H. Harris began weekly services and encouraged the people to build.

In April of 1902 the lot was purchased for $60.00.  The building was dedicated March 5, 1905.  A tower was added in 1910, and chimes in 1957.  A village water main burst in 1961 flooding the basement which caused extensive damage.  But the people united and the church was completely remodeled.  A new Fellowship Hall was dedicated on May 4, 1975.

To all the Pastors and Laypersons who have so loyally served this Church since its conception, we are sincerely grateful.
